Princess Diana Lives On In Her Sons

When speaking at a meeting of the Princes’ Charles Forum, which brings together 20 diverse groups, including charities, twice a year, Prince William, 27, second in line to the throne after his father Prince Charles, said he does not want to be seen as mere ‘ornament’ when it comes to royal duties. He and his brother Harry want to build on the charitable work of their family.

William said the princes had been inspired by the work of their parents, the Prince of Wales and the late Princess Diana.

A spokeswoman for the princes said the foundation would support work in three broad areas: sustainable development, support for young people and aid for wounded military personnel.

“There’s a time and a place for being an ornament as such — or, you know, shaking hands and being at an engagement and showing support in that way,” William told BBC television. “But I think there’s an awful lot more (to be gained) from actually doing stuff.”

It has been reported by the Daily Mail, that it is anticipated that Prince William will incur more expense due to his undertaking more duties on behalf of Queen Elizabeth.

It has been seen that Prince William is taking on more and more political duties, though his focus remains on his military career.

Buckingham Palace has denied the report that Prince William is a shadow king.

In the meantime it appears that Kate Middleton, rumoured to be the wife of the future king,is a royal-in-training. Royal watchers are predicting a Christmas engagement, though it is well known that Prince William does not intend to marry until he is at least 28 or 30.

The Queen’s warning of the paparazzi to preserve royal privacy over the Christmas holidays, is seen by some as part of the preparations for a Christmas announcement by the young couple.

It has been reported that all three princes, Charles, William and Harry are prepared to take legal action over ‘intrusive and unacceptable behavior’ on the part of the paparrazi.

Some members of the Royal family still blame photographers for the death of Princess Diana.
