Iraqi Internet Scam

New Internet scams are tried every day, each with a different flavor. I followed this one with several carefully worded emails, in order to flush them out. Finally I was sent a photograph of the so called communicator. It all began by the writer saying he wanted to buy our property on a tropical island of Vanuatu in the South Pacific.

Thanks you for your mail regarding the purchase of the property. I really appreciate your efforts so far in providing me with this beautiful property. Based on our earlier discussion regarding your property, I want to inform you that I will buy your property at your given price of US$1,590,000 but I have a favor to ask from you which I have already given a thought before sending the mail to you.
As you already know, I am a captain with the United Nations troop in Iraq, on war against terrorism. At this point he still did not ask for my credit card details. No doubt that would be the next request. You can’t be too careful these days!
I’m glad you published this, I am a realtor on another Island and had a request from ‘Captain Jeremy’ and luckily I found your article before I replied.
