Branson Does It Again

As another of Sir Richard Branson’s wild dreams are near reality, the billionaire breaks yet another hard won barrier.
Virgin Galactic says it is working to send tourists on suborbital flights and has tested its spacecraft with a crew, for the first time.
The craft remained attached to a specially designed airplane throughout a six-hour flight over California’s Mojave desert.
On its website, the company congratulated the crew and said “Objectives achieved.” It says the two crew members evaluated all of the spaceship’s systems and functions.
Virgin Galactic says the flight test program will run through 2011 before it starts commercial operations.
In 2009 Branson realized his underwater dream also when his plans were unveiled for the Necker Nymph. Its three bubble cockpit gives the occupants a panoramic view of the surrounding underwater area. It sports steering which is similar to that used on some jet fighters – a joystick.
Branson plans to moor the Nymph at his privately owned Necker Island, in the Caribbean. He plans to lend his underwater plane to guests for $25,000 a week.
Billionaire, Sir Richard Branson’s next aim is to produce a pressurized version of the Nymph that will have the capability of travelling to depths of 11,000 metres. He hopes to chart the untraveled depths of the Marianna Trench, in the Pacific.
His Virgin companies span the globe, while his thirst for brand domination and sense of adventure tell a story of an intriguing and thought provoking life, sprinkled with danger, high risk tactics, push the boundaries of the possible.
From a young man Branson has followed an all embracing purpose that is built upon fairness and change. Add to this mix a charismatic persona and an extraordinary business acumen and you have one of the most well-known and iconic figures of today’s business world.
Branson has always stepped outside his comfort zone, challenging his discipline, expertise and resolve. When problems arise he not tackles them immediately, but head on and aggressively. He has always been open to change, as he hunted for new opportunities, turning everything into a game.
