Absolute Luxury In the Air

On 15th November 2007, at the Airbus Saint-Martin site in Toulouse, a very expensive aeroplane, the A340-600, never got past the end of the runway, in an incident that a lot of people wanted to see quickly buried.
The Arab crew from Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies were going through their pre-delivery tests on the ground. Of the nine people on board, two were Airbus employees.
One of the ADAT crew decided to pull the circuit breaker on the Ground Proximity Sensor to silence the alarm. This fools the aircraft into thinking it’s in the air. The ADAT crew had no idea that they had disarmed a safety feature to prevent pilots from landing with the brakes on.
Instead of taking off the aircraft plowed on to the end of the runway and took an unfortunate nosedive, as the $200 million brand-new aircraft crashed into a blast barrier.
Photographs are finally being released of the sumptuous interior of the aircraft, that would have given a new meaning to the word luxury in the air.
