A Womans Work Is Never Done

Right around the world, the feeling is that women are found to be the most hard working of the species. Absolute proof of this was made through the ‘Hard Working Partners Award’.
However, the top ‘platinum prize’ went to the Irish. At least he lovingly and romantically held his partners hand.
When you go camping it is important to keep your priorities correct. We offer the ‘wood prize’ to this Englishman who knew it was more important to keep himself and his bike sheltered, rather than his partner.
In honour of the most relaxed American, we gave him the ‘bronze’ prize .
Poland on the far right came in for the ‘silver award’, closely followed by the Greek man who took home the ‘diamond award’. After all he knew his wife could do a far better job than him.

I know this page is “just a joke” but if women really find their work is never done, i can’t help wondering if it isn’t their own fault. I have no sympathy with women who say their husbands are only capable of “burning you a chop” and therefore insist on doing all the cooking themselves. One wonders if such women secretly want to do all the cooking because they enjoy it, since it is obvious enough that the husband whose cooking attempts are scorned is not going to be thereby enthused about doing more cooking. Likewise other jobs.
But I guess it is up to every couple to divide up their jobs as they see fit anyway. My husband doesn’t want to handle our “external relations” such as taking part in the political and ethical life of the society we live in, or charities or entertainment or contact with family and friends, and health related issues (got your swine ‘flu shot?) – so I have done all of that. Some things we share e.g. gardening, shopping, breakfast and lunch – he does dinner at night – and housework. And he does the rest. Not a traditional division, but at least neither of us is claiming our work is never done. We both have plenty of time to read a great deal.
