Healthy Chocolate?

It has long been the dream of avid chocolate lovers everywhere, that their favourite luxury item will come up healthy. Finally it seems, those who have a passion for chocolate, will soon be able to quench their desires with a new premium ‘healthy’ chocolate from the Middle East.  The Al Nassma (Arabic for ‘a cool desert place’) Chocolate is about to change how people think of chocolate.

Camel milk is slightly salty to taste, but camel milk chocolate is said to have both aphrodisiac and healing properties. ‘Organic, healthy and good for your sex life’ could be the theme song for this latest money spinner out of the Arab world. The chocolate is said to have healing properties for many things, including diabetes, jaundice, constipation and failing sex lives.

Camel chocolate has long been a staple food to the Bedouin and nomadic tribes, but has not been produced on a large scale. However, a Sheik with his own camel dairy farm has around 3000, often nasty-natured, biting and spitting camels, which will produce the camel milk for the new high end camel chocolate.

Camels are notoriously difficult to milk, and yield only around two gallons of milk per day, compared with a dairy cow’s yield of seven gallons per day.

The chocolate will be made without preservatives, or any chemical additives, flavoured with spices, nuts and honey from Yemen and vanilla from Madagascar.

The Camel Chocolate Shop in Dubai will display a camel milk chocolate fountain.

The chocolate is not on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration list, but the company believes it will sell in a high class shop in San Francisco and Harrods in England. Camel Milk Chocolate will proudly take its place beside gourmet chocolate, organic chocolates and Godiva Chocolate.

The venture is being financed from the coffers of the royal Abu Dhabi household.
